Information required on the 1979 & 1980 APBA Season

Dear all,

I need some info to complete a project I recently started. More specifically, I would like to find a course description of better still, a course map of the following events:

- 1979 & 1980 Lombardo classic
- 1979 & 1980 Spirit of Detroit
- 1979 John Wayne Memorial Race
- 1979 Benihana GP West
- 1980 New Orleans Halter 200
- 1980 Michelob Light Bahamas 200
- 1980 Islamorada 200
- 1980 le Club International

I will be extremely grateful to anyone able to help.

Phil.

offshore info

Hi Phil hope this is of some help to you, in your quest for info and not to late.
Have you ever heard of JOHN O.CROUSE or read his book SEARACE .
A History of offshore power boat racing by JOHN O.GROUSE .
CROUSE PUBLICATION Ltd
20740 SW 248 Street
Homestead. Florida 33031
This is by far one of the best ever published on offshore racing books.
If Ray Bulman were to be asked i am sure he would agree.
I am fortunate enough to have a copy, everyone should have one,it will give you all the information you wish to know.
Regards
MOJO ? OFFSHORE.

Sadly John Crouse died last year, and hadn't lived at Homestead for a few years anyway.

I think the American historic club HORBA has the remaining stock of 'Searace', so worth contacting Charlie McCarthy at Horba if you want a copy.
