My Apologies
if you did not attend the Classic Rally in Torquay or follow Classic Offshore then you may not know that Louly is a 36ft Morgan Giles which has been totally restored over the past 20 years.
Morgan Giles craft entered the Cowes Torquay in the first years of the race.
Built in Teignmouth in 1960 she is a credit to the time and money it has cost owner Derek McClarron ....
Article in current Classic Boats.

I was checking that out the other day Mike, and can`t find evidence of a `LOULY` in the CT61,unless it entered as Kanita or Monaco Fortuna which I think was slightly smaller.Could we have the pukka info on this please.

Hi Graham

she never entered but acted as course boat several years...
She would be identical to Kanita...Morgan Giles daughter let Derek use no 11 as that was his (MG) racing no...
I must check if I have photos anywhere of Midget, Meteor, Kanita etc...they do feature on some of the old films.
He rebuilt her using keel and frames, judging by that cannot expect the others to have survived, there again you never know.

Seems a bit odd having a race number, yet never raced as such.I thought that was a no,no, unless a line was put through it at the time.

All craft who attended the rally were asked to carry a race no their original no or a number appertaining to a race boat of the period.
