More Historic Videos
I've got a mamouth amount of historic video footage (some 30 hours in total) to share.
Graham Stevens has kindly spent many hours copying these vids onto DV format for me, some old TV footage, some specialist produced stuff, and the majority, are Grahams own Cine and video he shot himself over the years.
As the task of converting these videos to .WMV, and uploading them to the media server isn't going to be lightning fast, I'm going to just do them in a fairly random order, ticking them off the list as I go.
First up is the Ford sponsored documentory on the famed, 3000 mile London to Monte Carlo race, won by Mike Bellamy in HTS. (25 mins)
Enjoy, and raise your glass to Graham for sharing his astonishing colection with us.

I've just started the upload of a 40 minute vid covering the 1986 racing in Guernsey, will leave it uploading over night.
This is going to be a slow proccess, and given that the videos (at the current compression rate) are weighing in at about 6meg/minute, I will have to rationalise, and choose the cream to upload, and see how things go 'space wise'. to upload all of it, would be about 11Gig, which is a bit crazy.

If it means there is some you can't host due to space/bandwidth the offer still stands for additional storage with unlimited transfer (reseller account)

We can already support full dvd quality films on the server - of course it's then up to your broadband connection, but there's no problem with leaving them downloading overnight etc if you want full dvd quality 4Gb+ footage.
Mebbe we should have a some of these vids on a "paid members only" area of the server.

Huge thanks to Jon and Graham. Wonderful stuff.
I have some unedited footage somewhere that TVS took from the Cowes race many years ago (around 88? I think). Great overhead shot from a helicopter of Achille Motors screaming along in the Solent. Must dig it out!

Here's another.
This time, it's from Grahams home shot Cine collection, and is of the 1970 Cowes Torquay race.
