And now for a somewhat humiliating turnaround, after measuring my boat twice its a Crusader 16 ,i cant understand why i thought it was bigger,im going to blame the old tape and a large quantity of alcohol consumed at the Peter Boat pub.

Pre-Buzzard Crusaders
Yep remember those old brochures well. Bill Colnutt left about 20 with me when he delivered my fabulous first 16 way back in 09/79. They did not have "Buzzard" on them then. As for Harvester Bread, Steve Pile was super tough to beat in 3B and he just blew away those Phantoms but those two Blue Fin Cat's ! He He.
Anybody got any photo's of the 20. We had a 20 up here in Essex called the Godfather with a 200 or 225 Merc and I looked at an inboard one at the Norton Point Factory in 07/1980 with plans to go to 3C. That had a Jag 3.8 with Volvo Leg.
Those 20's never did hold favour against the Phantom as for sales. Shame recon they were better but very heavy.
Any one know what happened to the Highdown Flyer. That 16 held the Round Island skier time back in 78/79 only had a 4 pot 80 Merc.
Best 16 ever I am bias

There is a very tatty crusader 16 local to me, it has been through a multitude of owners / poor paint jobs / engines. When it first arrived on the scene 30 years ago it was red and named "BIG 77" with a Merc 1500 straight six.
