In my opinion (for what it's worth), 'Ballerina' or 'Macho' were the best colours, but despite that, I would vote for Double 2 Shirts all day long, just classic.

You now need to find pics as 'Rejuga' and 'Manhatton'.

Here's a start. 1988 class II world Champion Roger Fletcher in 'Rejuga'.
He took it to Atlantic City in 1989 to defend his title, but was unsuccessful.

SURVEY OVER..........

Double 2 Shirts its going to be

Personally I think its the best, and its what most people know the boat as being

On with the Engines............
EDIT: "On with finding the Engines"

Spoke to a really interesting Chap in California a few hours ago, said I was interested in finding some big block boat engines of around 500 bhp each - he gave a fantastic answer "Only 500 each" "that should'nt be to hard they are baby ones" then he mentioned "Strokers"

Might have to meet up with him when Im over there next week

Thought the original supercharged engines in OSG Donzi did the job well quoted at 600+hp with bags of low down torque he said he favoured these Stirling engines because they were simple doing away with all the EFI electrics and he proved it right with a very reliable racing season and winning the championship something proving more difficult with the more complex and unreliable Merc EFI units in his current P1 boat...perhaps his old engines are out there somewhere for sale at a knock down price

PS... glad you enjoyed the reading on the link I posted thought the guy who raced in the Big diesel Buzzi boats was very interesting and back in the 80's as he pointed out when the 4 engined winged Cesa boat showed up it minced every thing out their as even the cats back then only ran around 105mph when conditions allowed and as time went on he pushed ever closer to 4000hp and 115mph again a speed only the top cats were achieving back then, interesting point about inline engines as opposed to v design diesel engines plus the huge maintenance needed on the Seatek engines

Jon what I want, what I really really want, is to restore her to her former glory (or as near as I can get taking budget into account)

To be able to use her for RB12 would be fantastic and that gives me 4 years to pass my boat driving test and shed loads of time to get her ready.

Now that I have the Original drawings from Graham I can get the lost/missing parts re-manufactured to the original spec and hopefully this will add to her authenticity.

So a durable race boat, circa 1000 horses, that Mrs Pash feels safe onboard, that could put up a good show on a poker run, and compete in classic offshore power boat races (If there are any about) oh nearly forgot that can tow a ringo with Motivator on around the IOW

In essence Tim your correct but when Mrs Pash saw the Name ABO she said how true ! "Another Bloody Outgoing"

So for the sake of my sanity and indeed 3rd marriage it can’t be called ABO...

Tim I did tell her the truth - but she still holds with the name "Another Bloody Outgoing"

Then I got "How many boats do you need" "You can only go out in 1 at a time"
Dohhh

However Mrs Pash is now talking to me and normal communications have been resumed - Radio silence curtailed

Took some pictures of the inside over the weekend, as I've said before she is definately built to last, plan is to clear all of the "rubbish" out and then paint her light grey inside, this should leave a blank canvas for when the re-rit gets carried out.

Sent drawings of the Fuel Tank Mounts off to a metal working company so should get some prices back soon, she needs 12 Tank Mounts to support the 6 Tanks
Next is to get the drawings of the Tanks off and get a price for the Four Tanks that I havent got. will do this when I get back from the States. Should also get the remaing parts from Peter on my return Dash, Controls etc. Will have to find a supplier of retro gauges and try to match up the existing ones, will also see the condition of the controls - will most prob be sending them off to get refurbished.

Abo

Sorry Pash,
I would have to side with the "old farts" being one myself, nearly, and go for tradition, I recall when she was ABO and she looked terrific. Yes Double Two Shirts was good but if you are trying to be authentic go for the first livery not a subsiquent one. You could always change it slightly to "ABB", Another Bloody Boat !

I'd have it in the livery that it was most successful racing, Double 2 shirts does look great!

As a kid I always remember it in the Radio Rentals livery! It would look good in a nice glossy ferrari red.
