Double 2 Shirts it would have to be for me, that represents for me the change of fortunes for the beasty and also a time when it swapped out it's petrol for deisel and became a winner can picture it now bobbing away at the front of the fleet however as far as the bobbing goes I think I would be tempted to see if the spray rails could be extended in either alloy and bolted through the hull or glassed on in some way to see if the bobbing could be cured although it may not be that simple perhaps a bit of fettling of the aft end by one of the marine designers on these forums may be fortuitous

Interestingly enough, the Company Double Two Limited is still in existence, and they have a Trade Mark Registered "Double 2 Shirts"....
Now this could lead to problems or a great result.. Namely If I named and branded the boat "Double 2 Shirts" without getting the Companies consent There are grounds for prosecution under the infringement of Copyright laws, alternatively perhaps there could be some sponsorship opportunity.... if not then just their permission would be helpful.
So, a letter to the Company will be the first thing to be done when I return asking permission to use their Trade Mark...
And I thought this was going to be fairly easy
Thanks Tim B-C for bringing this to my attention

Pash
I'm sure if you went to the company and explained that you were restoring a classic raceboat and that they could only benefit from the media attention that it will attract, they would have no problem with it!?
Failing that, a slight change of name to Double 2 Shits maybe the answer? (I can see your lawyer mind panicking from here )

I'm sure back in the late 80's I purchased a shirt in London with a Double 2 shirts label a kind of Miami Vice recreation, probably in the loft lagging the tank by now !

I think youtube member ptorvund, who posted those vids has been doing a little vid snatching from our archives! they're both edits I did for the gallery.
'Phantom Powerboats' is the 'P25' vid for example, the other one is as supplied by graham for the gallery.
good innit, the yanks keep doing it on OSO too.

WRONG ANSWER!
No 56 Conserve or Perish, Kieth Schellenberg (I also take off me tammy shanter) ... KS did start in both ... and completed the course in 2008 but not in 72.

I believe that by now the decision on D2S is taken but I am worthwhile in full with Tim.
ABO would have been the correct version.
I believe that generally when an old boat is ri-built must be done reference to the original version, the first.
If I don't mistake then ABO was it the first Planatec 40?' Or was Uno Embassy?
Help! flying fish!
However compliments to Pash1 to have saved another piece of history of the Offshore. That true.

Had a good chat with pash today & what ones needs are.
So the plan now to raise the front deck & fit in a twin berth & small galley & head. Just not quite a raw racer as is - needed some smooth edges & comfort added. Thats the plan, same time schedule & a few frames will need triming & a rework but nothing too major. Deck pod will be a ply shell covered in GRP for speed & easy construction, Bit like the old dry Martini Cigarette

I hope this is a wind up - it would be a trajedy to mess with this beautiful boat.
