In the water at last, first test run indicated 71.4MPH on GPS - not bad considering...

No not full throttle as we have to get 10 hrs of running in on the drives first when we checked we were running at 4,000 RPM and getting just a tad over 60mph, we only realised the 71.4 when we got back to Drivers and downloaded the GPS Data.

In 1977 I first started to rig and looked after and race your boat, for the first 2 years it had 2 Westlake 492 ci GM 580bhp petrol's in it on MK 3 drives and was called Macho and Ballerina the max speed then was 83 mph, lets hope you get more. Jimmy B

Hi Jimmy, nice to hear from you again and I hope you're enjoying good health. for us now it's all about getting the right props, we ran low 70's today on a pair of five blade 28P props and they were too small, last week we had a pair of 4 blade 30P props and they seemed again too small, Geof Purves has a pair of 4 blade 32P's that he's willing to lend us to try out which should see an improvement..
We are racing next week at Torquay and going for reliability rather than top speed. Will keep you updated on progress

Martin

Sorry to hijack your post but my Dad (in picture) built this in the early 70's. Good luck with your project.

If you intend taking Uno Embassy to next years rally Rob, that really would be a great coup for the rally, & for all the enthusiasts !
