1984's Round Brit winner Angelo Spelta has passed away
Only today I have known that last 3 March Angelo Spelta has left us to the age of 69.
Beginning the career in Offshore in 1983 as navigator of Renato Della Valle, already in 1984 to the debut at the steering of the White Iveco it gets an uproarious success winning the Round Britain.
Protagonist of the European Offshore of the second part of the eighties steering mono and catamarans CUV as the Nooxy-Fresh&Clean also involving in the competitions his wife Giovanna Repossi(winner of the CTC in 1986 with Angelo)and his son Damiano.
Years of competitions are rewarded in 1991 where Angelo became World Champion in class 1,European Champion for the second time after the 1990, and won the classic Viareggio-Bastia-Viareggio.
Spelta remains one of the last Champions of the Offshore history.
Even if late I cared to remember his memory.
