Exclamation 3.0ltr GEARBOX

Desperate measures.

Does anyone have or know anyone who has a 3 ltr sport master gearbox, that might loan or rent for the day.

Required to take the kids to watch the Cowes Powerboat racing this Saturday 27th August.

Unfortunately, my gearbox is not ready yet and the kids are desperate to go.

So it would be very much appreciated if anyone can help.

It goes without saying but, I promise to take great care of it.

Regards

Steve ……the mutz nuts

My Bladerunner lost a gearbox Saturday afternoon. Hopefully the right one, else Nutz would have been going real fast in reverse.....

Hopefully the gearbox is now back and in place

On the subject, can anyone recommend a *reliable* service mechanic type person for the outboards. I want to get the impellers changed, the gearbox oil changed and the props nuts checked. Probably Tuesday! I could do it myself - but would prefer a 'real' engineer to do the work.

Oh - I also need to replace the outboard anodes - they are completely gone - worn away flat - zero anode left in them!. Any idea where I can get those in Southampton.

( and if anyone is interested, I found the issue with the temperature guage - down to a faulty earthing screw. It seems that the bolt holding in the sender (and holding the earth) had been stripped at some time, and had been drilled out and replaced with an insert - which does not transmit electricity well. So I have bridged the earth with a strap to a different part of the engine body to provide a nice earth.)

Doubt it. they probably started like that so you are able to run a bigger prop

The ones in the side - not near the prop are corroded away as well. I can see three on each engine, and they are all equally coroded!

The prop should not touch the anode if it is 1 inch in size.

Any shops in Southampton that would sell these?

Tricky, there will be a larger anode on the bottem of each engine saddle aswell.
The 3.0 ltr gearbox has a flat anode-without the fin.
you need to get yourself the alan-key bolts for the anodes aswell the 1/2" bolt you have isnt right and is a pain in the arse to get undone.
Thanks again
