At the end of the day It seems to be a headline grabbing 300 ponies motor but isn't a real alternative to a 2.5. Power to weight the 2.5 takes some beating.
As for the Verados just look at the size, hardly compact is it!

I spoke to Merc rep at the show, and the retail is $20,500.00, he thought it unlikely that a deal would be available short term, but expected to see loads of 250xs's and 300x part exchanges!
