Does any one remember the wizard motor from mercury? 2 v6's bolted side by side? Looked so stupid. It just ate away the transom of the circuit cat's. Didn't work as it was to race against the v8 omc's.

Does the new 1300hp sci have anything in common with this engine? could this engine have given Merc some of it's inspiration, only Merc engineers and designers know

New Outboard

On the note of new engines. I am consulting on some different commerical high performance RIB builds. The engines we are using will be the new Yamaha VMax. (http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboard/vmax_micro/)

You get fourstroke benefits from two stroke weight. They arent in the UK yet and dont have a realise date. However I am talking with Yam at the moment, to have the pre production units on one of the boats for June time. Excited to see what they are like.

If they are fitted, I will be doing testing in the Solent and anyone is more than welcome to come and check them out, although most prob they will be black out and covered over until the official launch.

They plan to have a 300hp unit.
