Alien Cowl

The molds finaly arrived, I'll be making the first one this week.
I have plates and hold downs here and on the way. Should have a completed cowl very soon.
I'll post some pics of the finnished cowl when it's done.
I know most of you have found other sources for these now but what the hey!

Thumbs up

Kinda hoped it would have been new but it will serve it's purpose

It was packed extremely well, timber reinforced corners and expanding foam sprayed into the boxes to hold it all together.

I just need to have a clean up in the shed to make some space to build these, they're not small I new they were quite big but these things are huge!

Hi Hydro. What catches are you using and are you making the part that goes inside the hood to direct airflow?

cowls

Mike and scotty, sorry didn't see your posts, I never got the email notification???
Mike, I'm using rubber hook bungees and I don't have a mold for the inner deflector. As soon as I can figure out what itdoes and where it goes I'll try and build one!

Scottyboy, you will need to change the tray and plate, I supply both with the cowls and I still need to nail down a final price. As soon as I build the first one I'll know for sure. I'll let you know, thanks.

Gav, I still have not gotten around to it yet. I have the little marina to get ready to sell (realy need the cash), final shot of paint, rigging, seats and interior.
I'm also trying to get the v-king ready for the summer and build it's new 2.5.
I have orders for a bunch of seats too.

And a day job!!!

I will do something with them this week, looking at the molds though and the way they seam together I'm not sure you will get away without painting them after they come out. The seam is very tight and doesn't leave a ridge to sand down. Will see how it goes though.
