chiller used to be on the ski racing scence, but i forget who it towed, a junior/ bambino i belive??
the ring with the suzuki has been around for years, i remeber seeing it advertised in brixham about three years ago for just over 20k
quite amusing because at the time i was 16, and owned a ring myself and thought, wow i got a bargain on mine lol
but no doubt that its probobly one of the nicest rings in peasure trim about
and the red one with the v max looks alot of boat for the money
if you fancied an xr2 for a bit more noise, we could do a deal

i am absoulotley certain, if the age of the last one is correct, then it would be a new build, as c/chaos made me aware it is a company called marina??? whether they bought that mould i am not aware of, but it definatey looks more ring than any other.
and burtys correct in that aot of ring 21's did come with a bracket, i was told that it had something to do with the uptake to inboarded ones wasnt as great as first thought???

I reckon the last one is a 21E, same as the one Graham Firmin recently sold. An extra foot of beam than a 21C, which is the one with the bracket and sun pad!

Chiller has just been sold to a family in the West Country. Lotta boat for the money .
The 21E series is s very nice boat abd most suitable for a modern heavy 4stroke.
The 20 with Yamaha I know nothing about.

Hope this helps....

a 21c= bracket and pad
possibly

I designed the 21D series to take the bracket as it gave a far better holeshot than a standard transom, the 21D was dual purpose and was a real hotrod with a 502/Bravo 1 and also went on to become Tony Davis Extreme 21 and the Honda series boat.

The 20 C had a built in transom notch /cutback for the same reason as the bracket , holeshot. It is not a good idea to set the engine further back with an additional bracket as it upsets the Cof G ( unless you re-jig the whole boat) best to leave it where you found it.

Sorry to scotch some of your favourite rumours....

Cheers ,

Mike

Oh well start again....

The second boat bothers me as I am positive it has had a new motor but is still changing hands or being advertised in a season.

Mike,
I am going to ask a really stupid question now... perhaps.

Are any of these 21 hulls still live ? -A bit rich for me I think but just curious really.

It's just you have a webpage that still comes up that says that you make 21 and 25 sports boats as well as the boat for Honda dated 2002.- No mention of Tony!!!- But his site is down too!!!!!

In trying to get back into things I'm finding it a case of who has what at the moment.

I was trying to use this forum as alternative to trying ring people and ask these questions but am on the verge of giving up.

Again I apologise for asking any questions that may be commonl knowledge.

Mike's connection with Honda was as the designer of the 130hp race boat, I was the builder.

I fell out with Honda after the first season, so the job, and a set of my moulds went to Cougar, who re-vamped the boat a couple of seasons later.

I still build the 21, and the 24, a pal of mine now builds the 26.

My website is down, undergoing changes, hope to have it back up soon.

Have there been any changes to the hull design or build to the new 21's? I mean, have or could any new 21c's be built with steps or pads, with a carbon/kevlar layup and colours directly in the gel?

3rd one (Ring 21) belongs to a guy called Steve we were out cruising the Tamar a couple of months ago !! It is immaculate and has had very little use, It goes very well for a big bout & small engine and very economical.

Think this must be a bit far fetched as I now own Graham Firmins old R21E running a 200 opti and flat out it achieves somewhere around 65mph. Although not having a vast experience of many different boats I will say that the 21E seems a very well built and capable boat and I havn,t looked back since buying it. Well Recommended
