Got the boat out today,
Good news : 90 kph on the GPS,
Bad News : The Yammie 90 died on me, no 1 cylinder on the blink.
Ah well, c'est la vie

Depends how bad damage is, will it hone out, does it need a rebore or a new sleeve, new piston or just rings ?

Hi Phil, the engine that has pulled up on Nº 1, is that the one that came with the boat? If so, check the bore size. The engine may have been blue-printed. If it is the same engine it would have been done by a man named Cyril at Ludham Marine in Norfolk, England. This is the man who did Del's engines.

I was told by the builder/designer of your boat that a 2 litre engine would not work on your boat, Peter Little gave me some really good reasons up at Windermere a few years ago too.
Go with a well tuned 90 Yam powerhead.

Thanks, could you be more specific ?
My thoughts were that an 18 footer could take the extra weight and since its only for lake/river use the added power would provide immediate speed gains without elaborate trim/prop/lift setups.
