Unbelievable, the auctioneer thought c. 50,000.
I am flabbergasted.

I am guessing the auctioneer didn't ask the bidder whether his political ideas were aligned to Her Majesty's foreign policy?

He originally started at £200,000 but when no one bid he started at £30,000 and it went from there

Also lots of tricks in Auctions to get the price up. Sometimes they backfire

Any ideas as to the buyer ?

May be Fabio Buzzi has purchased the boat back to stop other copies?

All we know is that he was a foreign buyer in Europe and that's about it.

We were there hoping to pick up a few bargains...... but most things fetched way to much!!, very close to new trade prices , don't know what the buyers were thinking, was also interested in the white hull until i saw the appauling quality of the mouldings you would have to take out shares in a filler company to get it to a reasonable standard so all in all a waste of a day
I heard the military spec boat had gone to a buyer in lymington? anyway i reckon he paid about £150000.00 too much... that is going to be one dear boat by the time it is sorted and seaworthy.

Looks like they have been made over a male former and not a female mould

Hi Russ,
A female mould was used it is just extremely poor quality workmanship ... more like an aero bar!!! also disappointed to find the lay-up was in vinylester with very little use of carbon fibre, I don't know why but i had assumed that they were manufactured using prepreg carbon and autoclaved the proper way, now i partially understand why they are so heavy and slow.

Hi Peter
I was told more or less the same thing way back , you could have put some of the unfairness to post cure but no autoclave used , wow , every boat must have taken a hell of a time to get together and look straight

What a shame .

apparently the auction was bidding it up themselves to get more commission but it back fired when it went for less than they expected and they were stuck with it. same story with the engines.
