Hello John,
I would love a go in the Bananashark, and fully intend to bid on a go in it.
Its my 10th wedding anniversary and we are away for 4 days of the trip, so having to try and work out when I could go if lucky enough to win any of the bids. I am also hosting a golf day for our local hospice on the 26th so another date clash !
I am a huge fan of hospices - they do the most amazing work, they gave my father the ability to die in an environment where he felt safe and secure, which is worth so much. Childrens hospices are somewhere I have never been into as I don't think I could cope, life seems so cruel especially when children with the whole lives ahead of them, have it taken away at such a young age. All hopsices are hugely worthy of our support, so PLEASE EVERYONE DONATE OR BID AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.

All I need now is someone with an Ebay account to bid on my behalf, as for one reason or another I no longer have an Ebay account !!!!!!!!!!

J

However, wickedtopspeed, a 2k bid on one of the legs?

Cookee will look after you.

You know it makes sense.

That's very kind - I just booked a B and B in Penzance but if you come and say hi I'll give you the tour - the knowledge of a spare bed is incredibly useful though!

Hospices are incredible.

I watched my Dad die in the Florence Nightingale in Aylesbury late last year.

The care patients receive is second to none.

A very worthy charity - Keep bidding on ebay!

Thanks John - I hear we may see you in Chatham?

Glad we weren't setting off this week. It looks like Thursday might be quite a pleasant trip to Newlyn after all.

For those that are interested we have tracking on the website: Tracking page - We also have a Raymarine AIS on board so if you look for BananaShark Stirling online Here you should be able to see us making our way round. We leave every day at approximately 10am after handing over the cheques and showing interested people the boat - come and say hi!

Google map of the route.

We can't really give ETA's as it is dependant on weather. Having said that we expect to make at least 40mph average without beating ourselves and the boat up too much and much faster on calm days. It's less than 90 miles to Newlyn so with a departure time of 10am (the same every day) I would hope to be tied up in Newlyn for lunch!

Can you PM me your number please Nick?

Just checked Sevenstone bouy data (off Lands End) issued 05.00 today. Wind 28kts with significant wave height 6.2'. Shipping forecast gale 8 westerly backing 7. That basically means all very nasty at sea today!!

Shipping Forecast looks a bit glum. Gales warnings everywhere, Plymouth and Lundy saying moderate to rough seas.
Good luck chaps, we could have been racing in that !
