Amble is tidal you can,t get over the bar a couple hours either side of low water.

Good to catch up with John and the guys last night, have a safe journey.
Looks like he has just gone out and back in again, so looks like the mist may be playing a part as you say

Makes you wonder what the RB12 team/race would have done in that weather, the news is reporting in that area 153 lightning strikes a minute, hail stones the size of golf balls as super storm hits the Midlands, would have been a wipe out so maybe fate did take a hand! Rough on Cookee though.

And the rest of the brilliant team!
What would you have done Mike?
We didn't have the hail but we had the rest. I think we would have pulled up anyway and called in the situation.
Grimsby Chatham today!

I wasn't being critical Cookee as we had the same problem at Plymouth in 2008. It's a case of cancelling the leg and moving to the next venue, there's no other option when the weather takes control. Hope you have a good trip today.

Mike - I was genuinely interested in what you would have if a situation like that arose? In forecast weather with lots of lightening and high winds. Very difficult for an organiser with a fleet already spread out.
We'll try to have a good day - a little breezy up here!
