So just returned from France, 3 weeks on the new tub before it gets hauled on Monday to Calais for what looks like a wonderful bit of english weather to finish the year off.
Anyway a little game of spotting whilst down there.
Firstly on Etang de Berre where I picked the boat up, a distinct sound of 2.5 whilst I had myself in the engine room. Bashed me head coming out to see a Bat boat kitted with 4 in line frenchmen dressed in swimming goggles and bare chests pissing off down the lake at speed. Didn't get the camera for that one but very funny to see.
Anchor up for a spot of lunch in the Calangues that can only be accessed by sea and this bloke pulls up (Pic 1&2). 1/2m swell running that day which reflects off the cliffs so fair play to him.
Pulling into Bandol spotted a pair of P28s (or at least lookalikes) leaving, again too slow with a camera. One all white and the other Black and White checked. A very poor copy of a P25 or maybe raffshore tied up, all yellow sporting a pair of 300s. Was going to walk round a get some pics but a session with dinner put paid to that and they weren't there in the morning.
Last day I had arranged with Marseille Corbiere for lift out and had a quick gander round the yard.
Firstly. (pic 3)
Then Jack managed to get this shot (Pic 4)before getting bollocked out of all proportion and whilst he doesn't speak french understood feck off. I went over for a word and got presented a brochure for this.

with a further warning of no photos.
Not dissuaded Jack came running over and said you gotta see this. (pics 5,6&7)
Good to see he can spot a Shead design but haven't a clue myself. Anyone?
Oh and finally found these chaps doing some secret testing work with engines in an old cigarette for some british team. As I say my french isn't so good but got 'Pour faire la distance pleine de course' whatever that means
