There is no relaxtion - records week is all above board within the current byelaws, but they want to create an exception for bluebird as it's not going for any records.

As I understand it, the bylaw currently enforces a 10mph speed-limit at Coniston, with exception being taken only for world record attempts Records Week (formerly at Windermere, where there is NO exception to the speed bylaw).

Seems like they have already considered my suggestion. The K7team don't want to disturb attempts at record week in November.

However, they want to have a change in the bylaw to allow K7 to run at any time, the option would remain open for Bluebird to periodically return to the water, perhaps in annual or bi-annual demonstration runs. (Quote from Piston heads website: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/defa...?storyId=19341)

I don't think the exception is 'for records week' in particular. It's for any world, or national speed record attempt. so the exception isn't just that specific week. If you want to attempt to set, or break any world or national record, I guess you have to inform someone, and do it.
