Cool Boat insurance???

I am new to boatmad, so Hi to everyone. Ive been playing about with a ring 21 for years in the poole area and every now and then had trouble getting insurance companies to insure it. Can anyone advise me of any good insurance companies?

Also just upgraded from a merc xr2 to an opti 225 with a transom jack can anyone running a similar setup advise me on a good all round prop and a good top end prop?

Say they are no longer insuring certain types of boats ie performance boats. Ring being one on there list of no-no's

I was with Trafords for years, but when I became a certain age I move over to 'Saga' who undercut pretty much all other estimates.

Porthcawl insurance. Ive never heard of them being beaten in price yet. I used to use Mardon but they were expensive and like you lot wouldnt renew my policy on the phantom.
The numbers at work but if ya Google em they should come up.

Talking Cheers lads

RA Carters came up trumps with a good price. Didn't look any further as quite liked the fact they also seemed pretty clued up with the boat type and values etc. Sounds a pretty good comprehensive cover compared to Mardons.
Recomend worth a quote for anyone currently not using them!!!

Yes I agree carters give a very good cover , although looking at some of these replies it seems thery are moving away from race style boats.

When I had my renewal from mardons in march (£130 ish, cant rmember the exact fiqure) I called carters after hearing the premiums had become more competative, they were still more expensive than mardons ( for similar cover, I cant say it is the same cover because carters is a good policy) by the tune of £30 even with a british waterski discount.( mardons do cover my needs amply).

I wander if i get away with getting insurance from them becouse my boat is niether ring nor phantom but similar to both,(if not faster in a straight line)

I have had a continuous policy for 8 years but not always with mardons because of take overs. We will see what happens next year!

The real test is of course when something goes wrong and you have to make a claim. I had a 2.4 Merc well on fire one weekend racing at Chasewater and I can't speak highly enough about the service I received from Carters.
