names
OK, back on topic; some names i've always liked.
"TerraFerma" I see it on some 50ft beast of a boat in Tenerife
"Breaking Point" was a Black Marshan 21, not sure if it was famous
"Impalla" another Marshan (19), blue & silver....very nice
"Confederate".....not sure what boat, poss early phantom with a porpose nose...but it had one fkin load V6/8 Johnson on it.
"On a Mission" - I think it was quite a succesfull ski race boat about 5 years back......P21......the fella gave me Phantoms no.......he's got a lot to answer for!
But, heres my all time favorite.............anybody know the history of this boat??

I always quite fancied a boat done in Repsol livery, but I'd probably look a right tosser doing 22mph with that!
I also liked "IronWorx"

Get someone to chuck a bucket of water over you, then take a picture, blow it up and stick it on the side of your boat. Then you could call your boat 'Dripping ****'

The HTM story is quite interesting.
There are two over here, one originally had a 502 EFI (445hp), the other one had an HP 500 (475hp).
In the States, they claim some amazing top speeds, but these are usually achieved with massive hp, so it's not through ultra efficient design.
The first one that came over (with the 502 efi) was tested, when new, by one of the British sportboat mags, and it managed 59mph!...we ran over 70 with the exact same motor in our 26' mono. (the owners claimed it did 80 odd)
The newer one is alleged to do 90 I think, I reckon probably mid to upper 60's.
The build quality was at best...questionable, and after only a season, it (the first one) had dreadfull crazing in the deck moulding, which they covered up with bits of polished S/S plate.
In summary, it seems to be a hull that isn't efficient, or light, but given enough hp (they run them with 1500hp blower motors over there) is stable at very high speed, in say, a 'lake' situation.
The older one is used as a charter boat, and when the stock Mercruiser steering got sloppy, they twice hooked it during a corporate charter, and ejected at least one occupant, on one occasion, a punter, and the charter skipper!...one of the remaining punters on board had to drive the boat back to the two in the water and rescue them.
They're also absolutely FUGLY.
I used to take great pleasure in pissing past this 80 odd mph boat (when full of punters) in my 70 mph boat, and always wondered how fast they must thought I was going, if they were doing 80!

If its a Phantom then - REVENANT (its a posh word for ghost).
try putting 'WAINE KERR' on the back, a good one if you're going to race it.
'DEAMON SEED'
