Boat show

Who is going this week? I'm going to try and get out of Devon (all the snow is gone from Salcombe now) and get up there tomorrow afternoon and stay for Wednesday and a bit of Thursday - Is anyone else going to the RB12 launch thing on Wednesday 13th?

No point, if their presentation to the ORC is anything to go by they haven't got anything in place yet, well not that they told us. Where they are starting and finishing would have been good or where they intend to re-fuel on the top of Scotland and where they intend stopping after they go "over the top" etc. Small things like that are quite important to any prospective entries.

Whereas RB11 has got the whole course already dialled in.

Not that I am biased of course!!

I look forward to hearing to the contrary from you Cookee ,

OK Lets start a list:
  1. Start
  2. Finish
  3. Scottish refueling point
  4. List of overnight stops

If anyone has anything to add I'll do what I can to find the answer!

How about class specifications? As far as I understand the Marathon rules are valid until 2011 - what happens then?

Also a indexed map over pubs within walking distance of overnight stops

There is no time or date limit on the current Marathon Class Specifications. The only thing that will change in 2012 is the Grandfather Rule for boats that took part in RB08 and Cowes 08 which stops in January 2012.

Those boats that took part in RB08 and Cowes 08 can therefore race in RB11 even though some may be too light under the current rules - which can only be good.

As for the pubs, I KNOW you know where they are from last time round!!

Went to the boat show this morning - much smaller than last year.
Few engine suppliers, Barrus had a small stand, Yamaha were there, Nanni inboards but generally very disappointing.

On a positive note the hostesses @ Sunseeker were very pleasant to admire from the Goldfish stand !

Thanks for clearing that up, Mike. Means we will need to put on some weight for 2012... maybe I should ask Fuller to join us in the boat ?

Thanks, but I'd rather be in the winning boat.
