Boating in Devon

We have recently moved to Tiverton, Devon. Can any locals recommend good boating / launching around Exmouth area or North Devon coast. Toatally new to the area so any help would be much appreciated.

Have a look at boatlaunch.co.uk not bad but can be a little out of date & descriptions not as accurate as they could be

Presumably you've emailed Geoff to let him know of any corrections then?

Exmouth Slipway is about 4 years old, free to launch but watch the tides and the current. Council are a bit slow to clean the green off it so def.a 4wd

Not far to the open sea too

The problem with Exmouth is that it's not long enough to be used at low tide! There is a marina there with a fork lift thingy though if you're stuck!

If you want to know anything about the Salcombe area then ask any questions you like - good slip with parking for trailers - easy access to Dartmouth, Newton Ferrers / Noss Mayo and Plymouth, good pubs and facilities - the downsides are that it isn't cheap, and it's very busy in high season!

If you want you would be welcome to come down for a coffee at the BananaShark factory for a coffee - we're near Kingsbridge / Salcombe.
