Boatmad racing???
Seeing as a few people on here would like to try some luck at racing, how hard would it be to put together a boatmad race or 2???
Could spilt it up into some kinda formula and just race for fun, all entries could cover the costs whatever they may be.
May be a none starter but could be fun. Any ideas???

would be good but someone has to organise it, and if something were to happen during an event would the authorities get shitty?

Great Idea!
No Authorities, no insurance, just a few blokes going out to race!
Bring it on – but set it up quietly… the Thought Police are out there!

Point taken, but there have been many races (well organised ) where racers have been left in the drink. ….and then got cold

I`m sure thats theres enough people on here that knows some one who knows some ones etc etc. As for the other bits and bobs, surely if everyone signed a disclaimer it could be overcome?
Only thinking aloud anyhow. May not be possible but who knows?

I would be up for this plus I am a first aider and a fire marshall.
Sounds like a great idea! It would be more of a poker run than a race though.
Race from Weymouth to Cowes would be a good idea!

Why dont you all just enter a basic race or two, you've no need to worry about safety or organisation, if your boat can pass scrutineering buy your licence and enjoy.

I think that anyone that goes racing should do it because they want to beat the fleet / the man / and the class the of the day.
Powerboat racing is a very hard sport, it destroys your body, deprives your bank account…
But I need to be out there next year…..
