building 26 ft cat with 400 R

hi all

I'm building a 26ft Bernico cat with 1 400R mercury.

I've never putted a single engine on a catamaran before.
now does anyone know how low the engine has to be if I put it in the center of the boat?

I think the question is not how low, but how high...
The two stern waves (or whatever they are called in english) meet and push water up.
I'm not a cat guy at all but I would guess the center engine should be even a bit higher than engines on a twin engine installation.

in a perfect world center of the gearbox bullet in line with the tips of the sponsons may need to drop it a bit depending on your type of use
