Buying abroad-help/advice

Anyone any advice as to the best (most secure) way to pay for a boat bought abroad? What precautions are necessary and any advice regarding the actual handover - particularly if it's being picked up by a haulier? Thanks.

Come on! I can't believe this forum has nothing to say here! Or are you all out on the water? (lucky gets)

Ive bought a couple of trucks,a dayvan and a motorhome from the states, all off ebay by the way. Ive always paid by bank transfer and never had any problems. Ive always bought through a dealer though to lessen the risks.

Ive always found the yanks to be very honest and trustworthy {so far } and have probably imported over 30 items from the states. Good luck.
