How the hell did those incompetent morons get their hands on that boat?! They can't even drive a RIB with a pair of 90hp Mercs without nearly killing themselves

They claim that they were rammed whilst stationary, yet you can see the ady gil was making way and accelerated moments before the collision. Great shame at the loss of the boat, but what a bunch of morons.

Their program makes them look like such a bunch of clowns, it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

Has anyone seen the South Park episode 'Whale Wankers'? It's absolutely brilliant, sums up what a bunch of attention seeking idiots they really are.

It couldn't be a deliberate action to gain some footage of being crushed by those evil whalers could it? Anyway, I wonder what the good Mr Gil thinks of his $1.5m donation being sunk in the Southern Ocean?!

There does seem to be a large degree of Muppetry in the driving there. Glad the crew are ok though.

That boat (when it was called Earthrace) sliced a Guatemalan fishing boat in two, killing a fisherman. Maybe there is some sort of bad Karma with the vessel.

The way I call it, the Ady Gil powered in front of the whaling vessel.

Looks to me like the Ady Gil captain intentionally powers up the engines in forward motion, right in front of the Waling vessel. Leaving the jap captain with no chance. The Ady gil should have slammed the throttles in reverse..

I'd throttle up if a boat changed direction to ram me as well, although I'd do it a little earlier!

The fact they were idling is why they were hit.

They approached from the japs starboard quarter making them the stand on vessel then decided to cut the throttles.

You can see from the heel in the clips that the jap was in a heavy starboard turn to pass astern and then the silly buggers stopped.

I'd bet they were just about to drop their buoy with rope attached to foul the props and someone wasn't quite ready. In the confusion the Ady Gil was pulled out of gear followed by "Oh Sheet"
