Canadian's Adopt Beaverbrook

After being rejected by the RYA as a candidate for the post of UIM President, Lord Beaverbrook, who has dual nationality, been nominated by the Canadian Powerboat Federation. The RYA continue their support for the Italian nominee Raffaelle Chiulli who is the only other name in the hat for UIM President. Can UK racers apply to Canada for licences??

Thank god there are people out there who have some inteligence unlike the dross (puddi****/manchester et all) who are only interested in what THEY can con out of the drivers and our sport to go on free junkets around the world and freebies to go racing bunch of 2 faced *******.
Good luck Maxwell, no one deserves the post more than you...Someone honest at the top.............. God bless Canada, can you get us all licences pls!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I am usually the first to wield the hatchet.....

But when did Manchester get the free junket around the world? And what freebies to go racing? I am asking because I should get 5% commission on all his freebies, and I need to collect.

And why does Puddi get 4 stars and Manchester get none? I think Manchester deserves at least 3 stars if you are awarding 4 stars to Puddi.

Finally - knowing *nothing* about the situation, I prefer Lord Beverbrook, because:
1) he has a cool name.
2) he is actually British.
3) he actually came and posted on Boatmad.com, and that deserves the reward imo.

Sorry no commission for the following reasons

1) No free trips round the world or any where else for that matter
2) Nobody pays for Gary's racing except him
3) No payment for anything just lots of work and greif
4) No expenses for ink cartridges, phone calls and we use and make loads and loads, or anything else you can think of

Hope that this clears the matter up once and for all, i have no idea why people think he gets paid for this he is a volunteer and receives no renumeration from the RYA what so ever.

I personally find it very upsetting that any one would think that Gary would con the very people he races with, it is not now or ever been in his nature to con any one it just isn't his style.

Oh i nearly forgot i do not get paid either!!!!!!

Regards

Denise

Having been unlucky enough to be involved with the UKOBA and having seen first hand the shenanagins that go on with the like of Drudge/Lewis and puddle**** jetting of all over in the name of looking after british drivers and representing them, then FRT who I have no reason is not stating fact then, IF and it is a bloody great IF it is as you state I appologise to GM.
HOWEVER, I still do not retract it concerning his backing the ITI over our own BRITISH Lord Beaverbrook for the Precidency of the UIM, then he should be bloody ashamed of himself..........................................

Tim

As we are stating facts and it is a fact that Gary is a volunteer and receives no renumeration what so ever.

The next fact is Gary became the chairman of ORC on the 17th of May, this is just 39 days today. It is unfair to hold Gary responsable for the decisions that were made before Gary became chairman of ORC. Gary is just One person who loves racing and was prepared to stand for what he belives in. He needs everyone's support otherwise he remains just One voice.

Regards

Denise

I dont either Tim. Just wish they would all be more truthful and transparent and not do everything under a cloak of secrecy. There must be some reason why they supported the Italian so why dont they let it be known? Did they ask the competitors?

CB1 haven't you realised yet that they don't know they represent anyone except themselves and don't realise there are any competitors...........probably don't know what a competitor is, and if they do probably assume they are cash machines !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you have all missed Denise’s point here
We are all on the same side just at cross purposes, because what she is in fact saying is the RYA is run by Amateurs.

NOT (in borat voice)

At the Clubs committee meeting, it was made clear that no decision had been made by the RYA regarding the nomination or support. It was also clarified that Lord Beaverbrook had made no representation to the RYA about his manifesto or a request for support!

This has since been forthcoming from Lord Beverbrook, and the RYA has published its position:

Quote:
Since the last PBRC meeting on 23rd May the RYA has received confirmation from the UIM that the Egyptian National Authority have nominated Nicolas Ioannou (Rudy), for the position of UIM President. The RYA has also received a detailed manifesto from Lord Maxwell Beaverbrook setting out his position and the changes he proposes if so elected as well as a similar document from Raffaele Chiulli the Italian nominee. The RYA has also received other relevant correspondence from RYA clubs, class representatives, officials and drivers with varied support.

In the light of this new information the PBRC decided to review its position with regard to UK support for any of the above nominees. The candidates listed below have all sought support from the UK in their bid to secure this position.

Maxwell Beaverbrook nominated by Canada

Raffaele Chiulli nominated by Italy

Rudy - Nicolas Ioannou nominated by Egypt

The PBRC unanimously agreed that, whilst it would be really desirable to support a British candidate, their final decision would be based solely on the suitability of the candidate, taking into account their past experience within the UIM, technical ability, languages spoken, expertise and understanding of the sport irrespective of their actual nationality.

An extremely detailed and informed debate followed which considered the merits etc. of all three candidates. The PBRC concluded that, with all this information available to them they couldn’t specifically endorse any of the above nominees.

It is understood from the UIM, that two further candidates may be forthcoming; the closing date for all nominations is Thursday 6th September 2007.

Richard Solomon
PBRC Chairman
