For RB08 we purchased CO2 quotas from http://www.carbonneutral.com/ - amongst several good offset projects they have (or at least had - not too sure about today's projects) they plant trees in the UK in accordance with your expected emissions. This should mean that the CO2 you emit is actually "eaten up" and converted to O2 by trees you indirectly planted. We estimated our fuel consumption, support car emissions and boat production into the equation and multiplied by 2 for good measure. The bill was not bad at all, and we slept slightly better at night...
