Thats not the old "Tin Fish" is it? Once campaigned by Alan Prebble as Silverlake Garage in Touring class about 16 years ago.

If it is, i last saw it at Calshot last year, it had been painted red and i believe someone on this forum said Tony "Maddog" Hamilton had it restored!!!

I believe, if memory serves! there were 2 of these boats built.
1 for the late Col Ronnie Hoare called "Uno who" the second called "Robert Bruce" for the Doxford Brothers in 1971?
in various forms and one became Ford Persauder and raced in the London Monte Carlo by Pascoe Watson and pulled out after hitting a fishing net cable of the portuguese coast.. I believe she eventually became Badger of Fiona The Countess of Arran's boat and painted red.
Like many ex racers she ended up in Puerto Banus boat yard after being seized for drug running..............
The other became "Sun Dancer" and again if memory serves was eveny=tually fitted out in Yarmouth with outboards (Suzuki's?????) what happened after that or in between not sure...........
Alex Foster would probably know or Derek Pobjoy..
I think Derek Morris might also have been involved in Ford P after his quadruple engined Ford Cammenga was late delivery for the London./M C

No, that was the arms dealer, Adnan Cashoggi's boat originally, Alan was running that when TD and I were racing.

If it\\\'s what I think there were two built one was \\\"Ford Persuader\\\" run by Pascoe Watson, light blue original livery the other was \\\"Robert Bruce\\\" cant recall who ran that. Year mmmh Pre Mobile phones, & Bill gates was still at school & hadn\\\'t stolen the windows concept from phillips yet.

Edit Duplicate post it\'s not a previous life flashback

Miss Enfieeld 2 not embassy.........Ken Cassir ran it after Soppy Topwith with John Galliford no 44 can't for the life of me remember what it was called......Did that now famous hook and stand up rounding the Torquay mark
Caught fire just after passing the Bill on the way back to Cowes.......
Bendy screemed fire and Ken jumped out with out stopping the boat.
Hot Bovril who was following picked/fished Ken C out the drink (apparently couldn;t swim) then took 44 in tow, Bendy and John G were appeplectic with laughter as the fire wasn't much and went out of its own accord........

Hello, My Dad raced Ford Persuader too!!!! With Bill Younger in the 1979 Cowes-Torquay. They had to stop every thirty minutes to fill the engines back up with oil! I visited Bill Younger quite a few years back to get copies of photographs made of Ford Persuader Racing for my Dads Birthday. The last I heard Ford Persuader was siezed for running drugs. A real shame. Blind Dog send me a PM, i'm sure my Dad would be interested. I'm out of the country until next week, so there might be a delay in returning e-mail. Best Regards Russell Attwood

Unless you know someone down there who is prepared to a lot of leg work you would have to go look........
I am amased that Spirit was allowed to be cut up without anyone letting us all know, especially when you concider George Green (Snoopy) lives at Sotogrande and has a boat there and I know Simon Powell was down there for a long time.........................
It makes me angry that anything british with a heriatge is allowed to rot away..........
