Building a 1500 hp blower is I would think, a little more involved than just upping the boost on a 950hp motor, otherwise, every big blower motor in North America would be 1500hp plus.

I reckon it'd be rather easy to end up with a shoppin trolley full of expensive scrap metal.

Just look at the Sterling 1500's in the 172mph Fountain in their vid, they don't look anything like the 1000hp motors now common in big yank stuff.

Talk is easy. (and cheap)

Most of the drag race engines in say corvettes as I did follow those a little bit as I had one, have the NO on for only a few seconds as a quick shot, and as you are hopping to cover the 1/4 in as little time as poss, it wont be on for long, they tended to add anyware between 100-250hp to a unit that had either been turbo'd or supercharged, the 350 vett engine seemed to be far more popular supercharged making up to 650hp from a standard 350ci engine, under exrteme pressure it made double that but on a strip for less than 8sec that may be ok but in a boat for a few min's building up speed on a fixed drive.....maybe a big bang!!!

there again I just had a thought, dangerous that, I did here a whisper but it was probably just that but JF would most likely know that the late 80's champagne mmm record run at 108 in class 2 with 4 150hp outboards was done with a shot of the strong stuff...........
