Well Noisy made it around but missed a mark and got involved in the finishing chute fiasco!!
No complaints but many thanks to Andy Judge,Ben Mazur and his family for their company.
all the support for the old boat....Noisy is so popular!
J F for his help and all the suggestions for 2006...by which time the total age will be well over 200.
I enjoyed the race but would have preferred not to be DQ'd.
However I think the weekend had many features from the old days...mostly good.
I will be taking JF up on his offer of help.
Once again many thanks for all the interest.

Who has news or photo's?

I heard there was no racing Friday?
I heard the safety boats refused to lay the marks?
I heard there was a helicopter crash?
I heard V2 won the race as V3 and V66 got DQ'd?
I heard I am not the only one who thinks the organiser is an asshole.

V2 didnt win as there were no points awarded for the race! V3 are the championship winning boat and team! V3 also won the basic race and set the round the island record for v boats but The bouys were drifting for the start finish chute and we missed the first boy on the return finish run along with all the other boats except v2 and a couple of others so we all got dq'd for that! I was in V3 for the basic with micky boy mills and we were flying!

I still think that some aspects of the weekend were great and saw a lot of the old racers which is always nice. Not an easy event to organise as I am not sure of the direction the future will go with regard to P1 being the promoter.
Didnt think much of the VIP hospitality....you should see the Honda Hospitality...more expensive but better value for money i reckon!!
I am sure that lots of pics will eventually be sent around. Regardless of all the drag and losing Ben for hours whilst he was " on protest jury" i still enjoyed the event. Bens family were very understanding to part with him for most of the weekend. Ben had Wife..Miarka, daughter Amanda and Boyfriend Rupert in tow but luckily they had the very scarce pit passes.
OK for a first time......?????

Ummmn - elaborate - This was ment to be the National Finals.

If V2 won and V3 was DQ'd then V2 wins the Nationals.

I dont understand?

Know one was disqualified in the end! The race officials said that no one was awarded any points for thr race! So V3 won the nationals!

Really!

Now that takes some beating!

Two boats miss a mark of the course, but dont get DQ'd
And then the National Finals for V24 dont accrue any points.

Sorry, still can not get my head around that!

Can I suggest we try to put this season behind us, and use the coming winter to mend a few 'broken' bridges, and move into the '06 racing season as grown ups.

Boatmad 'could' be an excellent notice board for sorting stuff out, but until everyone behaves like adults, half the fleet, and all the organisers are gonna steer clear, which is perfectly understandable. So how about it?

Very Tricky, The start bouy's had drifted to close together for three v boats in a line to pass through and therefore V3 and V66 went round it and V2 went back and through it! When the race was finished V2 complained and the officials then heard all sides of the story and came up with a decision on sunday afternoon after the basic round the island race that it was in fact dangerous and to be fair awarded no one any points!! Just stating wot happened!!

You spent a weekend at Cowes with Andy and enjoyed it?!!! Good work Fella!! Give him my best regards, haven't caught up with him in Spain this year even though his place is 50 yards away from Mum and Dads.

Sony losing points/time

I heard a rumor that Sony lost points in the rally race as it cut a marker or something. Does anyone know if this is true as from where i was it looked as if all the p1s missed a buoy which looked to have drifted out of place. All the boats cut it but Sony did it closer to the previous buoys - was this it???
