Crash Helmets

sorry if this has been asked before...

I'm going to be entering the Guernsey Basic Races next year, so I need a couple of lids. I've seen the Nitro ones, but I'm put off by how cheap they are! You only get one head and it's worth paying decent money to protect it in my view...

Is it a case of buying any white helmet and painting it a certain shade of orange? I'd love Simpson Bandits or Outlaws but I don't know if they'd be legal...

Cheers!

Paul

You can only paint certain helmets!! in general GRP. Certainly not polycarbonate ones !! Some of the Simpsons are not upto the correct standard.
The Nitro's you mention are one of the best you will get as they are the minimum weight which is very important in PB racing and of course because I sell them !! And they do carry the highest spec ie ACU Gold

Nitro helmets come with a gold acu approved sticker on them,
which means that they go through and pass the same safety and standard test as more expensive helmets.
As for why are they so much cheaper than other helmets, well mass production.
should you buy one for yourself,
only you can answer that.

Ah i see OCRDA was responding at the same time as me! ooops!

The N250VX in question does, but not the whole range. However All Nitro, G-Mac Takachi etc are EC2205.
Just to clarify...
