Did anyone watch Top Gear tonight?

They build amphibious vehicles out of:

a) a Toyota HiLux (with help from Cougar Powerboats & Honda)

b) a Triumph Herald

c) a Volkswagen camper van.

feckin mad!

managed to sink the camper van & the HiLux (along witha 225 Honda OB)

If I can be bothered, I might upload a few snippets from the show.

Yes, but at least this was fresh water!

It's the race motors you gotta watch.

OK, this is like 20 mins compressed in to 3-1/2mins, so the continuity aint too good, but you'll get the idea.

The Corvette Z06 on 5th gear tonight has a chassis made from balsa wood!!! I assume that means it has a carbon fibre chassis with an end grain balsa core!!! I wonder what people unfamilier with composites etc. will think about a chassis thats made from balsa wood!!!

Producers probably wouldn't let him - they made us de-tune his car and take the forest tyres off his car in that grass track race they did last year.

watched that north pole trip...got to say thou for once I kinda wished the car had failed not in a bad way to injure, just failed. I know like most stunts they have done it's just to entertain, but many people have come unstuck on this north pole challenge, I think I would feel horrified if I had trekked to the pole and only just survived...then seen on tv it being done so cavalier in a truck, one hand on the wheel the other on your glass containing your favorite tipple...I know behined the screens there is an armada of helpers plus perhaps some cheating going on plus a nuclear sub sat on the cap, but..........................

"The stunt, on BBC2 this autumn, did not amuse coastguards who branded it “totally irresponsible”."
