No, not 'Known as', the Designer, Bill Maloney, named them Scorpio Sorcerer, 30 odd years ago, and it's what they've always been called.

Scorpio/Scorpion
Hey don't confuse the beautiful Scorpion RIB with a little Noddy-style hard boat!
(Only joking, K9 )

As it goes, the Ultra warped hull form of Maloney's boats are superb in rough water, similar to, but even more heavily warped than a Scorpion RIB.
A 21' Scorpio would surprise you in a big sea.
However, .....I smell Mackerel!

True Bill was the original designer/builder but Scorpio/ion was a seperate company. His son in law now builds them and does a 7M rib version just to confuse things more..
Think it's under sorcerer composites now and we own the last one outa the mould from 2003.

anyone know the figures on a scorpions hull arent they very sharp aft hence their slightly sluggish efficiency.. i dont know what the forward section of a sorcerer is but aft is 20 deg deadrise. can you still measure deadrise at the front?? and is it from the horizontal.

As a general rule, deadrise is measured from the horizontal, at the transom.
Highly warped bottoms are great in rough stuff, but you pay for that in top speed and directional stability at high speed, so as usual, it's all a trade off.

Got to admit the sorcerer is one of the most stable hulls there is hence it's suitability for the kids to race in. with a 20hp 2stroke they can still do nearly thirty in open water (well 500-600M from the beach........)
