Drive shaft damaged! need replacement (ss xr2 w/sportmaster)
The drive shaft has corroded badly and worn where it goes into the cylinder head, too badly to risk running it.
We was hoping to take the boat out on sunday so need a replacement drive shaft for a 15" sportmaster gearbox ASAP!
If anybody knows of one please could you drop me a p.m!
Thanks for your help gents!!

20"
You can also use a 20" shaft and have it cut down and re-splined.
Might work out a bit cheaper as there are plenty of 20" shafts about.

A good idea......but would depend on whether only the splinded ends of the shaft were originally hardened or the entire shaft.
My guess would be that when both ends had originally been machined the whole shaft would probably been quenched.
I guess the BIG Question is:
Has anyone successfully resplined a 20" shaft to make 15" one before?
