Right then who is attending this Sat 5th at Drivers to discuss the future of the club and structure?
If the members want the club to continue you need to show your support. A club can't run without members and officials. All members need to think if they are able to spare time to help administer the club, organise events, keep face ache up to date with news and events and also whether the club wishes to run races. There is no point saying yes to any of these unless we as members are prepared to step up to the plate!
Remember the club does not belong to Drivers Dry Berthing LTD it is the members club it will be what you all make of it for 2011.
Let's make it a good boating year

It's was pretty formal but possible events that could happen through the club, who the commited is and so on. Bearing in mind the club is still relatively new we think there is a scope for growth in all aspects. Also we are gathering some experienced people getting involved now. More members is the key I think. If anyone out there who is not a member, get in touch and come and play, would be nice to have regular large numbers of boats going out, maybe the one sunday a month? Who would be interested in that?

There were a few more things discussed later on mate, but more along the lines of how to approach things from an organising perspective, sorry if it was not as you expected.
I do hope to see you around again.
Paul

No it wasnt quite as expected, i thought people would of been a bit more friendly, instead i stood there like a plum and not 1 person bothering to say hello, or ask who i was! And i went there to join which i did and to get to know a faces from here, which i didnt. Instead i done a 290mile round trip and a fortune in juice to embarrass myself. Sorry if i sound bitter paul but look at it from my point of view. Actually i wasnt completely blanked Mick ring spoke to me. He offered me some chocolates from a tin.

I can agree with you there Carl, the 3 times i popped in there for a nose: nobody said nowt, werent very helpful, nor did we get any of the famous cakes and our trip was 360 miles round trip, should be a compulsory signing in book at at the gate maybe,so people know whos coming and going, glad you got some chocs off Mike, the old **** never gives me owt, meet up one day soon hopefully.Next meeting they plan maybe we all walk round with a sign on top of our heads initially to break the ice,as will be Spartacus, still, loads of tasty boats to look at,so the trip wasnt wasted

Guys I wouldn't worry about it I run the bloody yard and no one says hello to me. This is often the problem with forums putting faces to names etc... Many times I approach people at the yard with a polite "can I help you" only to be told just avin a nose mate!

Well i just think its too cliquey, we are all on here together members of the same club all have a common interest, you make the effort to drive a few hundred miles to show an interest but noone can make the effort to even say hello.
