Dutch made Phantoms

As a few Dutch Phantoms have seen the light on the board lately I thought it would be good to gather some input on them. I just acquired one Dutch P21 my self. Having owned an original Steve Baker Phantom in the past it is going to be interesting to see how they differ.

As far as I can tell at least my P21 is pretty much an exact copy of the Steve Baker boat. Based on the Dutch registration papers it is made in 1998 so it must be one of the first Dutch P21's. The question is are the Dutch boats "illegal copies" or have the Dutch made a deal with mr Baker on the molds and the brand name. To my understanding the Dutch Phantoms (20 & 21) are built by a local offshore champion Mark van Lomwel and mostly marketed and sold by Jan Korteland. Both businesses are legit and well reputed shops locally. It would seem a bit strange that they would produce Phantoms without permission from mr Baker... Also, lately the Dutch have been producing what they call P23 XL, but at least I don't see any connection to the true Phantoms other than the name.

Anyway, maybe some of our Dutch friends could share some insight on the matter from their end? And I'm sure there are many stories on the subject from UK as well.

I'll ad da few pictures of my Dutch P21 for starters.

I have a boat of mark Lomwel.
The yellow one is mine, I find this boat very well built.
These are ready-made boats for 300hp
I do not know the Korteland 21ft was built by Mark Lomwel (but I'm not 100% sure) lots off rumors.
In Holland have been more builders of 21ft Phantoms, some better than others, they are not all of Korteland.

The red Run fo Fun is a one off test boat, with the hook in the bottom.
and mark Lomwel also makes a 21 skater like cat.
