East coast launching

Have any of you guys launched at Felixstowe ferry? Or do you know of any decent slips relatively close to Ipswich. I'm going to be based up here until April so need to get out on the water.

Cheers.

Thumbs up Levington Marine

Hi Wiggy,
We can recommend a good slipway in the Suffolk Yacht Harbour in the village of Levington midway between Ipswith and Felixtowe. Its £20 a time with parking and slipway can be used all of tidal range.

This is a useful link for other slips around the country

Hi, i spoke to them yesterday. The only thing putting me off there is the distance to open water. Do you know where the speed limit on the river starts? Is it a line eastward of shotley or is at the entrance to the docks.

Thanks for the reply.

If you turn left out of the harbour you can ski in a derestricted area in high water or head out to sea from the port about twenty minutes away from the harbour.
