My 2 main observations are:

(1) arent the 3.7L motors as old as the hills?
(2) I think there are several better fletchers in that price bracket currently on ebay.

From what I can work out, the last 3.7s from Mercruiser date from 1989 so the engine is at least 21 years old. That's something like 300 in dog years.

Im no expert, but is the 3.7 from the same family as the 4 litre, wet linered aluminum blocked motor (models 470 & 488) that had an alternator built into the front pulley, a bit like an outboard? they were designed from the ground up for marine use, but were a bit of a disaster I think, especially the alternator, that cost a grand to replace (regularly)

Might be wrong though.

Apparently, the old 3.7s suffered from a number of problems.
