Guernsey, anyone out this weekend?

Wondering if anyones out this coming weekend, 17-19th and if so where and when are you going?

Want to know who to look out for as I've finally got the extreme in the water. Drove it round from Perelle (northwards) on tuesday morning. Always seems choppy round there but I like a bit of adventure. First time I've used it.

Took it out again later that day and got 72mph out of it. Couldn't see that well at that speed, everything was a blur, so going to find my ski goggles for next time.

So look out for the idiot in the ski goggles (if my girlfriend doesn't throw them overboard) with the big grin over this weekend.

Sunday?

Tony lives on his boat, he is always out!

Working on saturday, but i'll be out on sunday for sure! Borrowing a prop that I want to try out...

Sounds like the extreme is going well! Look forward to seeing it out!

While I think of it, lain, do you know of an easy way of changing the prop on a 21 without getting in the water? Can't be bothered to trailer it out and it'll be my first prop change.... exciting stuff!

Hi Andy
put it on the beach or the drying out pad in one of the marina's or get M+G to lift it out on thier crane thing.

Turn it around on the pontoon, trim the engine right out, use a bit of wood to wedge the prop and try not to drop anything, has worked for me countless times

Guernsey Boys

Alright Lads!!!

Iain - great to hear you have the extreme in! 72mph on your first run is a great effort. I saw her in the QE2 today - looking awesome mate.

Tony - I have a Guernsey Powerboat Association membership form for you if you want to get signed up with us? (I am the Secretary of the GPA)

Andy - as Larby the wise old owl says, spinning the boat round on the mooring and doing it there is by far the best way to change the prop.

Larby - with the Guernsey Boat Show coming up next weekend, the GPA are going to have some boats on show and ill be handing out GPA Membership forms - the cat wouldnt be ready to be on show for then by any chance would it mate? ill have my Ocke on show, El Presidente Kev will have his Backdraft on show and i thought maybe the Cat aswell? Fully understand if thats a bit optimistic of me though!

This Summer in Guernsey is going to be f***ing awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy- if you use the drying out pad in the marina's be aware that they get booked out, I'd go with larbys suggestion.

Jacque- looking forward to seeing the bat boat out.

TonyF- I'll look out for you over this weekend. I might even venture to Jersey or Alderney. I feel quite confident of getting back with this boat and have done herm and sark to death with the ring21.

Tony Davis- how does 72.5 sound? It was foggy but smooth. Lots and lots of seagulls sitting on the water everywhere. Had to swerve and duck on a few occasions.

Had my first pint in Herm last night rowed back out in the dark then it started to rain which really stings my eye balls at speed.

Oh almost forgot some twit has put down a pot in between Creux and Alligand (spelling) beacon (entrance of the main route to herm), and there was one near Reffe' the other day. Keep a lookout!

Should be a good weekend, I hope there's a bit of a swell to make things interesting.

I'm pretty sure that Extreme was good for very high 70's if not 80mph

I built the boat for a pal of mine, who allowed me to use it as a demonstrator. We did several engine swaps on it, and then when Andy bought it we fitted the 496, together with an Imco shortie leg and full hydraulic steering.

Nicely put together, run up against it last year i was running 68mph it past me must have been about 10mph quicker, as it just flew past.
Remember Mr Younger's not one to hold back the throttle.

Aargh, gutted! I'd love to have the cat down for that mate, i'd bring it down mid build if i could! She's no where near ready enough yet though, and it's gonna take a crane to get her out, so that's only gonna happen once!
Such a shame though, it would've been great to be able to display her at that!! Next year maybe, it's made me really annoyed that she's not sorted now!!

Had some fun today, was a bit choppy so got to experience a more bumpy ride, drives really different from the ring21.

Havent really played with the trim yet. Want to get used to the experience first.

Might take it to Jersey tomorrow. Anyone else going my way?
