Having a few beers
I reckon that there's nothing better than having a skinful of beer and taking my shiny speedboat out for a blast. Anyone who tries to stop me is a pipe smoking, slipper wearing, killjoy elf-and-safety Nazi who deserves a slap.
Discuss.

and of course it pays to have a few before you go to make sure you're totally topped up by the time you come to reberth. Then lunch on the barbie, more beer in the afternoon, crash back to the marina and end up looking like this

if you drink and then take your boat out, and then when something goes wrong you expect some one to come and help you, putting other peoples lives at risk and calling out the coast guard why?
all i can say is that you are all a punch of prats,
we all like a drink sometimes but not when driving, i ant saying all of you but some of you rib boys cant drive under normal conditions and should go and have driving boat lessons or something.
i have seen more people full out of ribs than the pub door

You've all got it wrong. If they legislate against drink, just do drugs instead!

People have been drinking happily on the high seas for centuries. We should be standing up for more freedom not backing the Nanni state and making excuses for more ridiculous legislation.
There are idiots who crash private aircraft which as a pursuit is much more heavily regulated. I think a plane crashed on the IOW over Cowes and called all four of its crew! Cars are crashing all day long killing people.
I find it hard to comprehend why anyone who is into boating would want any form of legislation upon us.
Life is for living not legislating

Mind you it does not always need alcohol for some people to be a complete idiot, at my local boat yard during a season you will often find some dick driving his boat at high speed between all the moored boats and come flying up to the slipway as if he was James Bond...more like James Nob giving anyone with an engine a bad rap

Yeh, but your other quote is "Everyone knows how stupid the average person is. 50% of them are even more stupid than that"
