Out of interest Tony, is this one of yours?

If it is it would seem tremendous value for money!

That does look like the one that was built by Tonys guys - it looks great, and I think there would be a market for them!
To answer the price question, a mass produced (as much as any RIB is) in South Africa boat is a comparable price:
Ribeye Sports 785 1 season old Yamaha F225 some electronics no trailer £30,000 + vat. It's slower, has less dry storage, the fit out is done by the dealer and you get what you pay for, however they are produced to a price, and they are probably worth the price. We try to offer a lot more for your money when compared to other RIBs, time will tell if we are wrong or not!
In my opinion a BananaShark is at least as good value for money if not better - you get a boat built for the customer in the colours that you want, with all of the extras factory fitted with marine grade everything, I'm sure all of the quality manufacturers do the same, but there arn't many left! The best example of quality is the wiring, each cable is marked at both ends with its function, the cable we use is tinned and not regular copper wire, each fitting is a crimp and heatshrink with glue in it to prevent water ingress up the insulation. Our laminating is as good as you will ever see, and we offer a 5 year hull warranty as standard.
Of course the above has nothing to do with the pricing of the Extremes - they are exceptional value!

The second one. You're in business to make money. The second one gets the message home.
Adverts do need to be professional but the public need them to be easy.
The first one was obviously on a magazine cover in 1954.

Yes, but intelligent customers don't respond well to being told it's the best value they can get - they automatically don't believe it.
Better to give them the right information to come to that conclusion themselves.

most of the guys that I know with ribs love catching big air over wave, to me both pictures do nothing for me at all, however Cookee your avatar picture is the one for me, that is brilliant, use it instead with a catchy slogan. I take it is the same breed as you are selling.

Well it would be nice to be acknowleged when an opinion is offered at least two of us have stated your avatar is a better option. However your product sells at 30K, now look at your 2 pictures and look at any of these of the argo I think you really need to step back and ask joe public which picture literally floats there boat
A product of such value deserves good graphic design and marketing.

Thank you and everyone else for the comments - I think a redesign for next month is on the cards! I was waiting untill I got a few replies to make comments - the more the better!
I must admit we have a lot of great photos of the race boat in action, and although I'm trying to sell the leisure version I might do something with a photo of both boats in it?
It seems I'm in agreement with JW:

and Tricky although I thought it was out of the seventies! The first one was done by the magazine and I must admit I hated it!
It seems that everyone has an opinion (just like everyone has an .......... oops you know what I mean!) so I'll let you have a look at the redesign before next months ad goes to press - ok?
