Hi Brambles,
WELL SPOTTED!!! well not that WELL SPOTTED!!! a blind man on a galloping horse would see that it is not up to my usual build quality. If only i could drive a sewing machine myself but rest assured the issue is being addressed.

Tension Compression Strut
Hi All,
I never thought this would happen on our recent visit to the Beaulieu boat jumble i found something from the rag & stick brigade that i can convert into an adjustable strut for connecting the transom shield & gear box on the port engine, this will be cut up & lightened then welded to a piece of tube to extend it.It's purpose is to prevent any end load being applied to the carbon fibre drive shaft as i have purposely not built in any plunge.

Drive Shaft
Hi All,
Visited Crompton Technology Group today & met with Daniel Chilcott & Phil Hall who very kindly gave us a guided tour of the production facility. We were able to see their manufacturing techniques including the mandrel winding of the carbon tube & the prop shaft dyno. After the tour of the factory we collected Carbon Cheetah's port engine drive shaft, as the whole shaft only weighs 3.3kilos we won't need to guard it as it has very little in the way of inertia so as well as the weight saving in the shaft we also save weight in the guarding.
The shaft has been proof loaded to 1600nm of torque & failure doesn't occur until way over 3000nm.
Reagards

Hi jw,
The flexi couplings are also made out of a very special lay up of carbon fibre & they are designed to take up to 1.5 degrees of misalignment on this installation their function is just to take out hull flex.

Trim Pumps
Hi All,
We received our first batch of oilgear trim pumps today which have been produced to our own specifications, they are 12volt permanent magnet motors, which will provide the same pressure as the mercury racing trim pump for a number 6 drive but over twice the oil volume thereby increasing the trim & tab speed by over 50%, also by mounting the pumps in pairs on specially designed carbon fibre mounting brackets i have been able to reduce the weight from 15kilos per pair to 8kilos per pair dry this is including all bracketry & switch gear. The oil reservoirs also have a larger usable volume. The two pairs destined for Carbon Cheetah will be mounted to the transom minimising the hose & battery lead lengths.

Hunton Ilmor Build/Cinzano
Hi All,
Haven't made a lot of progress lately on the Hunton, only getting the opportunity to spend an hour or two here & there.I think we may have seen the turning point in the recession as we are starting to see a lot more business in hydraulic repair & also supplying new systems We also spent the whole of last week designing & making fuel, water & hydraulic pipes for Cinzano @ Universal Marina on the Hamble, we're of back to the midlands now with a load of parts from Cinzano to recondition & test.Should be back Thursday with all parts ready for installation.

Such fantastic attention to detail, now the Summer is here or should I say should be here bet you can't wait to float ye boat
Looks like Sonny Crockett is not only interested in Scarabs and crocodiles in the good ole US of A, but could also be pa-shall to a Hunton too ... so if ever you want to sell, the buying market may now include the US of A

I see! And was this bromide left over from any other damage limitation schemes she's been operating?
For Eric, I'd add a few other special compounds, Hormones, etc etc in if I were you. It pays to make sure & be safe. I'd go for a whole cocktail in fact.

I'm sure they will be spending many happy an hour reading this thread especially as the boat is GAS and Ilmor engined
Was kinda hoping that Cinzano would make an appearance at the Cancer research race in Poole/Bournemouth but I am guessing as it is paint-less it wont be ready in 3 weeks for a roar around the bay with it's new uprated engines ... it would of been fantastic to see and hear yours Peter running in one of the local Basic events one day
