I'm baaaaaack!!!

Long time no see. Lots has happened to me since boatmad got,um, reconfigured? I was banned from OSO, left hotboat.net over their constant ragging on me about my left-wing politics, joined boatfreaks.org and offshorepowerboat.com.

My motor(Ford 540/600hp) is giving me all kinds of trouble I'm going to have another one built over the winter, this time with a BBC or Merlin block with EFI for reliablility.

The wife and I took our teenage nieces to Florida last month for a well-deserved vacation. They loved the Keys. Had a blast!

gArf I missed ya bro.

Just curious. Why do you run a Ford 540. Surely you could get a lot more out of a rat or should I say that there are many more performance mods available.

I ran a boat over here with a couple of Windsor motors and while they had plenty of torque and performed decently, it was always a challenge to find aftermarket parts for them.

Yep, 351 W's. BTW, I was being truthful when I said we weren't running Edelbrock inlet manifolds (they were Holleys).

I bought the boat last August with that motor in it. The previous owner said he got a real good price on it, and you're right, hard to find parts. The IMCO exhaust had to have special brackets made for it to fit the block.

I'm talking to several builders about a 572 or 598 Merlin aluminium block with EFI making 650-700hp on pump gas, hopefully 87 octane. The boat is solid red, so everything on the motor will be red and chrome. Should look really good.

Also there is a guy in Kahleefornya(Guv's pronounciation ) who has invented a dual-jet drive system. He put it on a 28' V bottom with a 1300hp turbine and ran 0-75 in 6 seconds. That should give me top holeshot with no worries about breaking a drive.
