Old Niall on here has a Scarab project in Guernsey that he might sell.
I'm sure Larby would help deliver it etc
Big V looked at importing one too so he could also help advise
Better still buy a Batboat 23 and come racing

Well if you want a scarab I've got one in pieces I'm not sure what to do with. Will I ever have the time to do it up, I don't know and I got it from the states.
Cutoms will tell you the duty and they charge it on shipping costs as well. Think it was 10% but can't remember. And I think shipping will cost you about 5k and a lot of phone calls.
make sure any shipping company knows that they need a T1 form to get your boat from the UK to channel Islands or uk customs will want to charge you VAT, and all the time your boat's sitting in the uk why you try to sort the damded form out will cost you in storage charges. don't assume any shipper will automatically sort out this form for you as I think this form is just for the channel island so it's a rare thing to fill out.

Importing is easy if you use an agent like Peters and May...who can also sort out the shipping too.
It will cost VAT+1.9% import duty to be levied on cost of boat AND shipping.
I imported my Sunseeker Superhawk from the US and all up it cost me a little more than half the UK cost at the time....though that was when USD2:GBP1
