Isle Of Wight Circumnavigation
Think of taking Lord Of The Rings (21) round the IOW for day trip on 12th Feb - anyone done it?
How much fuel would my Mariner 2.5 200 burn if I cruised at say 30knts?
Assume my 100ltr onboard tank would hold enough fuel?
I wouldn't be going alone and would take charts/Nav etc.
Cheers,
Jim

If you want some company I would be up for a run in the VS22, would be fun to get a few smaller boats out for a run .. Renegade ? Drivers 510 ? Etc ..

I think it's about 60 miles from what I have found online - just don't know how many litres an hour a 2.5 200 would burn at 3/4 and full throttle?
Anyone hazzard a guess?
Jim

Hey Lloyde!
Load of us going on Boats, Ribs and Jetski's - someone on another forum suggested it and stuck the date in the diary and everyone jumped in!
Clearly if the forecast ain't right we'll postpone.
Cheers,
Jim

round the island
we did it a couple of times last year with our 21' cyclone, merc 300xs, (and a skier on the back!) from hamble to osborne bay, round the island anti-clockwise to osborne again and back to hamble. made it on a single tank no problem, our tank is around 160 litres i think and still had a fair bit when we were done.

it took around an hour and 12 minutes so if its roughly 65 miles thats an average of about 60mph.. wouldn't have been flat out most of the way no, between 3/4 and full throttle i guess.. I'm not too sure, my dad was driving, i was on the other end of the rope.. fairly tired, but our national races are 50mins plus a lap so kind of used to it
