Thanks for that, Jon. It is a modified sinewave one and the instructions mention a possible problem with plug in chargers. My phone is a gps also and it will be part of the 12v system but I'll need to keep the risk in mind. I'm hoping it'll be able to drive a wee microwave oven and I kinda have a plan for an onboard computer system for navigation, navtex and entertainment too.
I did try it on my laptop for a few hours and it was fine so hopefully it's not too crude.

They do say, that with modified sinewave, you need to double the requirement of a microwave when specifying the inverter, I don't know if this is true, (or who 'they' are), but have heard it from more than one source.

Yeh. The 500 watt one we have in the camper consumes 1kwatt. A bit fkin inefficient. I hope it doesn't need a 2kw inverter! It's about 90% efficient, so that's about 180amps at 12v.

An update on the cabin. It's beginning to turn into a wee ship.

The pic is a flash photo. It's actually much darker at the driving position, which is nice.

The next step is the panelling and trimming.

Looking good, Jeff. Can't see the microwave yet (or the kitchen sink!).

I just meant that a wheelhouse would keep Matt dry when it rains.

I'll shut up now.

Just out of interest, was the engine installed when that pic was taken? and is it sitting on the jockey wheel naturally, or is there a 4 ton trolley jack under the back of the trailer?

That will be about the same size as JWs then. Wonder if Tony should visit Scotland to look into building cabin ribs. The rib hull does look very deep (top of tubes to deck) which is nice to see, sat in rather than on.

Will Boatmads top rib tester be taking it for a spin ?

It would be much easier to buy one of these and glass over it!

All of them. It's completely balanced as is. When the sleeping pod and anchor locker go into the bow, with a bit of luck, it'll be just right.

That puts your CofG way forward then! about midships.

You're gonna need all them ponies, and a good windscreen wiper I would imagine.

In retrospect, it's lucky you didn't go for the jack-shaft tween engine and drive, ya cabin's done it for you.

Yup, dead right. CG will, hopefully, be about over the front wheel. That will make it 2.6 - 2.7mtr from the transom at the waterline.
