Looks like from the colour scheme as though that could have been in Lethal Menace one of Richard Carr's boats.

That engine has been under a bit of polythene sheet in the middle of a field for 7 years that I know of......go figure!

It is indeed a Lethal Menace (ex 'Cougar-Lamborgini' C1) motor. So dates to about 1990.

Laying in the same field, were all the dismantled & rusty remains of one of the 930hp C&G Blower motors from 'Lethal Magic', a real crime.

The AC Cobra was not lying in the same field by any chance ?????

See that's what happens when you have lots of money you can just dump your old toys which cost oodles of money in to a field !!!

Clarke had his own engineer (John someone, surname escapes me right now) do all the engine work on his motors & drives, including all the tuning & dyno work. He seemed a very clever fella, even made up a pumped, filtered lube system for the Mk 4 drives. However, the motors never really seemed to last more than a few minutes

Most of the teams had their motors go back to Italy for rebuilds, I think the company was called Conrrero, PJC will be able to confirm/correct me. Those teams, including that of Carr/Pascoe/PJC/Drudge had excellent service & reliability.

Pretty ambitious of Clarke I guess.

Sounds a clever fella, wonder if he has gainful empoyment at clarke power tools ...he has a shop a few doors down, the manager buys products from me...he said his shop has to be extra extra tidy now John Clarke has purchased a giant house in sandbanks he can arrive any time ( not that it was ever untidy ) just in case Mr JC ever reads these posts, I think he turns up in a nice new Ferrari 430 cs very smart...made a post earlier about Bournemouth race tomorrow, it was that race around 1990 when he finally got it all together and an excellent race ensued between Clarke's cat, unipart ex Tollman cat class 2, and Follet cars class 1 cuv mono, dont know where the big Debenhams mono was though...it was a very choppy dull day...I think Follett won, and Neil Holmes came 1st in 4ltr, I am sure someone on here would no for sure if that's how it finished

Conrero built all our engines for Achilli Motors, great, talented bunch of guys. We used to have a radio link and they were able to tell Dominico how to set dials etc as we raced...They used to rebuild an engine, from taking it out of the boat to putting it back in in under 5 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!
