Land & Sea Jack Plate

Back in the early/mid 90s, Land & Sea did an extruded black annodized ali jack plate (2 piece) that found it's way onto quite a few 2 & 4 litre boats of the time.

They had a habbit of breaking where the hydraulic ram attached to the boat half of the assy. There must have been loads laying around in peoples workshops back then (I think Steve Salmon did some repaired on a few)

Now, I don't suppose any of you lot would happen to have such a thing lurking anywhere that you part with??? (doesn't matter if it's suffered the usual failure)

I have one, but need a second. will post some pics of the one I have later.

Plate only with the lower mount mod done (bolts through boat) One 1/2 of the fekked ram. lot of the bits have gone back to the US as I've broken it down for requested bits. Just fekken take it away as I keep hitting my shin on the studs- if you must will accept 4 Stainless 7/16 UNF Nuts in swapsie,

Afterthought !!!!!

I think the trusty old L&S is a great jackplate, for heavy offshore work it does need the attachment mod but otherwise it’s a very groovy unit. The only problem is the availability of spares now that the builders have pretty much given up all the old production & just into Dyno’s. When I embarked on the Midas Project I got a lot of spares in for my use only to fall at the last hurdle on the Motor/Pump assy. Yes I subsequently found out you can adapt a 40-50 Mech Power Trim pump & it works well but you have to call time at some point which I did. (that was an expensive lesson to learn)

The real nutkicer is the availability of the plastic sliders so that is going to determine the useful in-service life of any plate. I haven’t spoken to L&S for over a year they might still have some.
Everything I had as a new OEM (apart from sliders *4 , studs *2) has gone back westwards 2500 miles that alone make me wonder if it’s worth pursuing the L&S route.
